Geo David Rock Meerl’s Expertise I truly believe in the phrase that "if it can't be grown, it has to be mined" and see opportunity for the mineral resource sector to diversify into new ventures to continue to enhance socio-economic benefits while still creating a sustainable future and move towards a low carbon future. I am an accredited Professional Geologist (P.Geo) with the Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (PGO) and have accumulated a wide range of work experience, in various commodities/settings, and skillsets in: Capital Project Execution, Feasibility Studies, Operations, Project Generation, Leadership, Greensfield & Advanced Exploration, Resource Modelling, and Research. I am experienced with a number of industry standards including: Datamine Studio RM, Deswik, MineCAD, Geovia’s Gemcom, Leapfrog Geo, ProMine, AutoCAD, ERSI’s ArcGIS Suite, Geosoft Target, Fusion Client Suite, and DH Logger among many others. Recently, I choose to pursue further education in order to broaden my perspective on the resource sector, and am currently a candidate in Queen's University's Masters of Earth and Energy Resource Leadership (MEERL) program for the cohort of 2024. Currently I am working in the Base Metals Division at Vale as a Senior Geologist at the company's flagship operation, Coleman Mine, specializing in narrow vein Cu orebodies. However, I am always open to interesting and challenging opportunities throughout the globe in order to progress my career as a Professional Geologist.
